So I figured out how to get the blogs switched over to this blog, but it will be time consuming cause I will have to do it one at a time. However, I decided to give you a taste of one of my first blogs written in April 2005 and it is about my dear darling Bob who will be 8 unbelievable years old on Monday!
So, here is one of my first blogs...enjoy:

Does It Get Much Crazier???
I found an old blog of mine. From what I can tell it was from 2004 or 2005 till 2009, which was about time I stopped regularly blogging and switched to FB. So glad I am back to my blogging! Reading these old posts, remind me how much I love it. I am having a hoot reading stories about the kids! I am going to try and get the posts switched over to here. If I can't, I am going to feature an old blog post every few days so I can get them in this blog where I can find them easily later. I would LOVE to write a book or something about the funny things my kids have said/done. Even if it is just for them!
Ahhhh....love my crazy life!

What Happens When Crazy Hits Our Kitchen?
So tonight's incident started earlier today...in a sense...let me explain:
We decided to have chicken for dinner, so I put some in the crock pot...The rest of the afternoon was fairly low key. I organized the pantry and my office/craft room, then proceeded to start working on a corner cabinet that has been in our family for decades. I am going to be putting it in our dining room....but that is a whole other story.
Somewhere along the line, Peter, my completely wonderful husband, decided to finish up dinner and put it on the table for our growing little munchkins. He put some rice on, got some gravy going (ick!) and was dishing up the chicken to the plates.
All of a sudden I hear this huge BANG/CRASH/SMASH noise! I whip my head to look at Peter and there is cornstarch flying all over! Vanilla is soaking the counters, the floors are a puddle of it, the walls are dripping with it and also making a lovely paste in combination with the cornstarch. Not only that, but there are containers of spices laying in the puddles of vanilla and the stove looks like Mount St. Helen's erupted in our kitchen...WOW!
Peter is of course, beyond frustrated...he just wanted to fix some gravy for the kiddos and look at the crazy that happened! So I start cleaning up while he finishes his gravy that is starting to complain on the burner...
Let me just say that the two pictures I put above do NOT do the beautiful mess justice....I didn't even start taking pics till a few minutes into cleaning when Peter mutters, "You may as well take pictures of this for your blog, this is what it's all about..." I look at him thinking he has lost his mind, cause I wasn't thinking he would want me to. I said, "Are you serious?" He smiled, "May as well!"
I was nice and didn't take a pic of the rest of Peter....let's just say there are not very many places on him without cornstarch... |
Our kitchen, my hands, my feet and the air all smell of vanilla extract...no small wonder..this bottle was almost full.
|
I wasn't really sure what had happened so cause the earth to tilt on it's axis and dump our spice cabinet in Peter's face. I guess that one of the little plastic thingy-mabobbers that holds the shelf up broke and well...like Jack and Jill, everything came tumbling down after Peter tried to put the cornstarch back on the shelf. My poor hubby!
No more top shelf....well, till I get another thingy-mabobber... |
There was only way I could see to clean up the cornstarch....vacuum. |
So, folks...the next time things are getting a little dull around your house...just make gravy!
Night ya'll!
I Can't Believe I Did It....
After four years of being a Facebook junkie, I am deleting my account! Wow....I almost felt nervous about it. However, I realized that I enjoy blogging my family's activities and photos much more. I had enjoyed blogging for several years but it slowed down when I joined Facebook in 2009 mainly because I don't have time to do both. Or the concentration level, frankly...
I will miss some of the day to day postings of my friends, but all in all, I am excited to go back to my blogging.
To any of you who have followed my Homeschooling Happy Hearts blog and Happy Heart Homemaking, you may wonder, "Why did she change her blog name?" One simple reason, as I was making the decision to go back to blogging, I told Peter that I realized I wanted all my posts in one spot with one blog. Really the blog is about my life and my two main loves: homeschooling and homemaking....So my hubby sweetly moved everything into one blog for me.
I hope you enjoy seeing what's going on in my world....it's pretty crazy in here!
