You Never Know...

You never know how one moment can change your day or life. Case in point, three weeks ago and my little minivan incident. Sometimes, meeting one person can change your life or at the least, your day. This would be what happened yesterday afternoon:

I had a pretty low impact day. Spent the morning at a friend's house, having coffee and chatting it up. A lovely way to spend the day, which also re-wet my appetite to get more decorating done around my house! We both LOVE changes our spaces. After that, I spent a couple hours grocery shopping and getting some much needed bedding for our bedroom, on sale even! When I got home, I went full force into re-decorating and re-arranging our bedroom. It was so much fun and it is much more relaxing now that we finally have a theme to our room and new bedding. (I will have a post on that after I paint this weekend!)

Then came the moment where my day was changed: as I was finishing up my bedroom, I heard the dog start barking her head off like she was not happy. The thing you have to know about our dog is that she does NOT like strangers, especially men. She is a great guard dog and is always alert to what is going on in our neighborhood. Judging by the amount of barking she was doing, I figured there was some creepy guy out on our front porch. I looked out the window and saw some kids crossing the street but other then that, nothing. Then I decided to glance on the front porch and there was a lady standing there!

She was practically sopping wet, carrying a gas can and looked down right miserable. She asked if we had any gas we could spare and I said "Sorry, but nothing portable." Then I heard the Lord telling me to do something that under normal circumstances, I would NOT do. I heard Him tell me to take her to the gas station. So, I asked her if she wanted a ride, to which she gave a cry and said, "Thank you!" I grabbed just my license, keys and $5. On the way to the gas station, she told me about how this past year had just been horrible and running out of gas was the straw that broke the camel's back. I asked her for her name and told her that I would be praying for her. Her face lit up and she asked me if  I went to church. I told her about our church and she got so excited! She moved here recently from up North and has no friends or family in the area. She has a background in the medical field but is having a hard time finding a job that isn't part time. I made sure to give her our church's info and my phone number. She sounds really excited about finding a church family.

If you think about it, please pray for Kristin. She has three children that she is trying to stay in contact with, two boys and a girl.

I know that this was not a coincidence, God does not work that way. Praying that God will be with Kristin and guide her, whether I see her again or not.
