Welcome to Monday Madness where I will talk about pretty much anything that comes to mind. From homeschooling to special needs to strange blog posts about silly objects to interviewing a family member...you never know what you might read on Monday Madness! Enjoy!
Wow....has six weeks gone by already?
Back when I had surgery, the six week recovery period seemed like a lifetime, especially considering I had already spent about 2 months on partial bedrest due to what was going on with me.
I'm happy to report that I am back to regular life, all restrictions lifted!
So what now?
I am working to get myself back to hiking conditions for this summer. I gained quite a bit of weight over the past 6 months with what was going on in my body. I still have what is called "swelly belly" many days. This is normal and could take up to a year to go away. Everyone's recovery is different. I have talked to some women who were back to normal in every sense within a couple weeks. Others who took 6-9 months to recover fully. I don't see it taking me that long to get back to normal. I still tire out, but not as easily. So every day I walk as far as I can and strive to get my energy back up to par for hiking.
I'm also catching up on housework that got missed over the past few months. My sweet family did their best to "spit and polish" every day, but there are some things that just need a good scrubbing that only moms see need done!
One of the things I have missed the most is playing with my kids and picking up our four year old. One thing he has wanted to do with me for the past couple months is play on the trampoline outside. A couple days ago I picked him up and said, "Guess what? The owies in my tummy are all gone and I can pick you up again!" He got really excited and said, "Mommy, can you jump on the trampoline with me now?" Guess what? We have a trampoline date this afternoon!
I cannot stress enough how thankful I am thankful for the Lord and His gentle care of me! When my surgery happened, it ended up being a worse situation than it was originally thought. We have been waiting for the results of the pathology and praise the Lord, completely clear! God is good!
Have a blessed day and embrace the craziness in your life!
