Welcome To Throw Back Thursday!
(Formally Blast From The Crazy Past)
(Formally Blast From The Crazy Past)
This post was written in 2005 shortly after we moved to our current location.
Shelby was a tiny infant, Sierra was 18 months old,
Jordyn was 3 years and McKenzie was 5 years old...
It's nice to know that those prayers for safety are bottled up in heaven.
I heard the girls hollering yesterday and went into the bedroom to find complete chaos. McKenzie had apparently pulled out the bottom drawer of their dresser, which is almost as tall as me. From what I can figure out, she was trying to get into her top drawer. Sierra must have decided to climb up also and the weight of them caused the dresser to start falling over. When I walked in, McKenzie and Jordyn were trying to keep the dresser and heavy drawers from falling on top of Sierra, who was crying hysterically and had both of her legs caught in the bottom drawer.
It was just the Lord that the girls were able to keep it from falling until I got there. By all rights, Sierra should have been crushed. I think most people would say that the girls had adrenaline that helped them keep that heavy thing from falling, but I know that what they had was GOD!
I didn't break down until we got the dresser righted and the drawers back. Then I picked up Sierra and started crying! It was the straw that broke the camel's back in a long hard day.
I am so thankful for our Lord and Saviour. I think about what I am going through right now and I wonder how mothers without the Lord manage to live their lives.
There is no way I could get through each and every day without God. And I certainly don't want to try.
McKenzie, Jordyn and Sierra would have been about 5, 3 and 18 months
