Dear Friends and Family,
It is so much fun for me to look back and see what was happening years ago. This post happened exactly 12 years ago in 2007 and it's amazing to think of all that has happened since these girls were so tiny. Enjoy!
Homeschooling is going great! McKenzie (8) is excelling in Science and loves to do experiments.
Jordyn (6) is doing fantastic in English and LOVES to read. She reads everything she can find with words.
Sierra (4) is going to a Christian Preschool that we learned about a couple years ago. She loves it and revels in the fact there is a special thing just for her to do. While I am more than confident in helping her with her preschool work, I realized as a middle kiddo, she was wanting something that was just for her. Jordyn was the same way. Thankfully, despite the tight finances that we have been having, the school is working with us and really wants to keep Sierra in. They are such wonderful Christian people there!
Shelby (2) is trying to grow up and milk being the baby at the same time. Not sure how that is working for her! She is anxious to learn everything and has a great memory. While we were helping teach Sierra her phone number, Shelby learned it without us knowing. One day she walked up to me and recited our phone number. I looked at her in surprise and said, "Do you know that is your phone number?" She smiled in a matter of fact way and said, "I know!"
Other exciting things coming up include our Christmas Program this Sunday night. You are all invited! Jordyn has a piece as the star, McKenzie is singing "Angels We Have Heard On High" as well as another song that is the main part of the program. Sierra was going to say a piece, in fact, I have been working on it with her for two months and she has it memorized. However, she told me last Sunday that she really didn't want to do it. Didn't totally surprise me as she is pretty shy when it comes to being in front of people. To my surprise again, Shelby had the part memorized! So Shelby is doing that part instead. And Sierra will shine helping ring the bells with the rest of her class!
The most exciting part of December is not Christmas for us.......weird, huh? The most exciting part is that my parents will be flying out here on the 19th and staying for two weeks. They will be staying the first week at my grandparent's place. Then they are coming over on Christmas Eve and spending the rest of the time at our house. The girls can hardly wait! And neither can I. I miss my parents so much. They are my best friends!!!!!
Praying that everyone has a wonderful Christmas and enjoys this season of worshipping our Saviour!
God Bless,
Peter, Heidi, and the Girls
I am truly praying that as you enter this 2019 Christmas season, that your hearts will overflow with Thanksgiving for all the Lord has brought you through in the past decade.
Merry Christmas,
Heidi
