Welcome to Monday Madness where I will talk about pretty much anything that comes to mind. From homeschooling to special needs to strange blog posts about silly objects to interviewing a family member...you never know what you might read on Monday Madness! Enjoy!
I'm so thankful we don't do this on a regular basis...
As most of you know, we have had the blessing of having Peter work from home for the past 4 or so years. When he first started working from home, it was awkward and frustrating. Being a homeschooling family, it's not like the kids are gone for 6-8 hours a day. We are all coming and going, working on schoolwork, and generally being somewhat noisy!
However, as time went on, we got into a groove and we have just found that if something didn't work, we sat down as a family and figured out how to make it work.
One of the other things that changed with his new job is that Peter started going on trips away from home to go to trade shows. In the first year, he did two or three. He hasn't done too many in the past couple years.
However, this past week, he was in LA. Way too far away to drive to daily, so it required a airplane ride.
Let me tell you....it's lonely around here without Peter. Our family functions best with mom and dad!
This trip, we had the addition of our youngest, whom we have only had for ten months. He was very concerned about daddy being gone for five days. There were lots of questions about when daddy was coming home, asking when I was going to go back to the airport to daddy back as well as worrying that daddy was safe.
I don't know how most families interact, but ours really needs our daddy/hubby. Peter makes our little world complete. Having him work from home and popping in to say hi to us throughout the day is something that we all look forward to. So many times we can be having a rough homeschooling day, Peter will pop in and make us laugh. We need him....lots!
So Peter....we managed to survive without you....at least the house is still standing....but I feel so blessed that we don't have to do this on a regular basis!
Till next time...
Have a blessed day and embrace the craziness in your life!
