In January and February, I am putting up interviews that I have done with my family. These are not your typical interviews like "What's Your Favorite Color?" or "Who Is Your Best Friend?". These questions were more to tickle my family's funny bone with a couple serious ones just to see how they would answer. I was not disappointed and I don't think you will be either!
Since Peter's birthday is next week, I chose to post his first, enjoy!
What is your name?
Peter
What do you think of garden gnomes? They tend to be down to earth and close to nature. They always show their true colors, and they don't mind getting dirty. Sometimes they come across as a bit hollow, but, if you're looking for a fungi, you'll probably find it.
You’ve been given an elephant. You can’t give it away or sell it. What will you do with it?
I will become an internetainer and become rich. Very few people have their own elephants, and very few elephants have their own social media channel. We'll capitalize on Frodo's desire to see an Oliphaunt. In fact, I would probably name my elephant "Oliphaunt" just as a matter of practicality.
If you had to be shipwrecked on a deserted island and had all your basic needs like food, water and shelter taken care of, what would be the two things you would want with you?
A satellite phone and the phone number of a rich person who owed me a big favor.
How much would you charge to wash every window in our town?
Enough to convince them that I was beyond their price range. Phew...dodged that bullet..
Design a spice rack for the blind.
Pro tip: you don't need a spice rack. Flavor your food with whole aromatic food stuffs like actual garlic cloves, ginger root, etc. The only "spice" you need is salt, and you likely don't need a rack just for salt.
How many pennies would fit in our living room?
184,320,000 (1.8 million dollars)
What was the last gift you gave someone?
I gave my wife a free Dutch Bros coffee
What is the funniest thing that has happened to you recently?
I have this recurring dream where I am a contestant in a beauty pageant. I always wake up about half way through, so I never know if I've won.
Describe the color yellow to someone who is blind.
- I would take them outside on a bright sunny day and make them face the sun. I would tell them, "This is what yellow feels like."
- Then, I would wait for a cool summer evening when a soft breeze carries the smell of freshly cut alfalfa. I would tell them, "This is what yellow smells like."
- I would next surround them with friends and laughter and tell them, "This is what yellow sounds like."
- Finally, I would serve them a giant slice of extra lemony pound cake and tell them, "This is what yellow tastes like."
You open the front door and there is a penguin wearing a sombrero. He walks in the house, why is he there and what does he say?
He is looking for the elephant. He says, "Who is Oliphaunt? Her name is Ginger."
If you opened a store, what would you sell?
I would open an Etsy store with a line of products celebrating the love of Bob and Ginger (the penguin and the elephant).
What's a memory that makes you happy?
Sitting at Grandma Mary's table eating homemade vegetable soup and pita loaves fresh out of the oven.
On a scale of 1-10, how strict are/were your parents?
7
Would you rather live a week in the past or a week in the future?
A week in the future. I already know how the past turned out.
If you could ask your pet three questions, what would they be?
- Where did I put my car keys?
- Who moved all the measuring cups in the kitchen?
- Can you get off the bed please?
Who is the funniest person you know?
Tony Boise
What sound do you love the most?
Laughter
What is the worst thing you did as a kid?
Broke my dad's car and nearly killed myself in the process when I was about 4.
What is something you want people to know about you?
- Don't give me any elephants. As nice a gift as that might be, we really don't have any room for elephants....
- Also, I'm learning to play the mountain dulcimer. Quite fun!
Wasn't that fun getting to know Peter a bit better? If you enjoyed it,, leave a note for him. Additionally, be sure and wish him a Happy Birthday!
Have a wonderful weekend!
