Family Friday: Christmas Baking

Dear Friends and Family,

There's nothing that screams Christmas more than some holiday-themed baking!
Every family has their traditions and almost every family I have ever talked to has some sort of goodie that they could make any other time of the year but find themselves only baking during the Christmas season. Something about the tastes, smells and experiences reminds us of cozy, family feelings!

Some friends of ours make fudge every year to give to family and friends and after 20 years of doing it, they sure have it down!

There are a couple of recipes that we don't make to eat at our house any more because of health reasons and we have missed making them. Something about the smells and nibbles remind us of warm, cozy days in winter with Christmas music playing softly in the background.

Today we decided to have a baking day as my mom needed help making some things for her open house this weekend. Ironically, it was the two recipes we don't make any more, so that was fun! We decided to also add in some GF cupcakes that we needed for Noah's school Christmas program soon.

My girls and I had so much fun working together in the kitchen. We had Christmas music playing in the background and just really enjoyed ourselves. Here are some pictures from the morning:

Have all the ingredients ready for the
oyster crackers...

Right about here I realized we were missing
food coloring and flavoring!
Off to the store!
Some yummy gluten-free chocolate cupcakes for
Noah's Christmas program open house!

These smell so yummy while you are baking them!

The beginnings of some yummy mints...

Mints for miles...

The finished product of oyster crackers...

Mmmmmm...

Mom's goodies are ready to go!

These turned out AMAZING!
I hope you enjoyed our little baking day along with us!
God bless,
Heidi and the Girls

Speaking of warm, cozy traditions that involve food, here is one that Sierra shared a couple years ago. Read what she has to say about Christmas With Grandma!
