Welcome to memories...my memories....welcome to a Blast from my Crazy Past!
Where did the last 16 years go????
Twelve years ago, I wrote the following for Jordyn's 4th birthday.
Since she turned 16 yesterday, it seems appropriate to put it up today!
Happy Birthday, Jordyn!!!
Today, four years ago, I gave birth to one of the most wonderful
little girls I know! Jordyn entered our lives and we have never been the same
since!
This is a little girl who is such a wonderful mixture of
things. There are times when I think that we have just scratched the surface of
the person that she is going to be.
She is one of the most caring, considerate little girls I
know. She loves to nurture her younger sisters.
One thing about her, you always know if you are on her good
side or whether you should watch out! She lets you know what she is thinking,
she is not shy about letting you know what is going on in that head of hers!
She has always been the most inquisitive little thing. And
loves to solve things or figure out how they work. Many times when she was as
young as 15 months, I would find her sitting by herself with a pair of lace-up
shoes, taking the strings out and re-stringing them! I was remembering the
other day how she insisted the sun and moon were balls! She was about two. She
would see the moon or sun and say "Ball! Ball!". Which would irk
McKenzie to no end, cause she had to have everything correct!
Jordyn is also somewhat of a perfectionist. One thing she
still has a hard time with is doing something the second that she is told to.
It's not that she doesn't want to obey, but that if she is in the middle of
doing something, she can't just leave it partially un-done. She HAS to finish
it, or it drives her crazy! I have a hard time with this as I am not that type
of person!
My dad says that he thinks he was a lot like Jordyn. He had
a hard time sitting still and always had plenty of energy to let out. That sums
up my daughter! I remember that at one of her first appointments, the DR said
that she had a heart murmur. Which was something they failed to mention in the
hospital. Anyway, as she got older, I expressed concern over this to the doctor
and she told me that she was not worried about her as most babies that are
having a hard time with their heart murmur are listless and have little energy!
That was NOT our girl! She learned to crawl at 4 1/2 months! She couldn't even
sit, but boy could she crawl and all over! We knew that our hands were going to
be full with this one! BTW, the heart murmur is gone!
All in all, the past four years with Jordyn have been such a
blessing and I am thankful to have such a neat little girl. I think that she
will always amaze me with her thoughts and actions. I anticipate the upcoming
years with joy! Lord willing, we will see some neat things come from her.
I'm happy to say that at 16 years old, Jordyn has shown us some pretty awesome things! She is still a nurturer and will let you know by the storm on her face or the words from her mouth exactly what she is feeling or thinking!
Jordyn, you are growing up to be a wonderful young lady and we love you dearly!
