Throwback Thursday: "I'm Scared!"

Welcome to Throwback Thursday,
Jordyn and I were remembering this moment 13 years ago this evening. What a beautiful time as a momma to witness my child realizing her need to have Jesus living in her heart! I hope you enjoy stepping back in time with me:

Throwback Thursday: We Need To Grow Healthy and Strong

We keep remembering this little Jordyn-ism and how cute and funny it was. She would have been a little over 4 years old as this was the fall of 2005:

Throwback Thursday- My Children's Prayers

Welcome to Throwback Thursday,
The following post was written well over 12 years ago and was one of my favorites. Such great reminders of the innocent and trusting prayers of children who know their Lord is going to answer. I pray my children always remember their roots and how God has been answering their prayers from the time they were tiny.

Throwback Thursday: Go To Sleep! (2006)

Dear Friends and Family,

One of the main reasons I started my first blog way back in 2006-ish was to keep track of some of those fun memories that I didn't want to forget when my kiddos got older. The following post was written around 2006 when Jordyn and Shelby were about 5 and 2 years old. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed reading it again!

Blast From The Crazy Past: The Things Kids Say!

Cute Kiddo Sayings From 2006 or so:

The girls would have been around 2, 3, 6 and 7...

So the other day the girls went to visit their favorite place in the store: the lobster tank. While they were there, Sierra (3), states that when she grows up she wants to be a lobster. McKenzie says, "When I grow up, I want to be a veterinarian." Sierra got a concerned look on her face and said, "So you can eat me???"
*******************************************************************Peter doesn't have a dangerous job, but apparently, that doesn't stop Jordyn from worrying about him.

I found Jordyn praying for daddy: "Dear Jesus, I know you love me. Please don't let my daddy die today."

I was a little startled, so Jordyn went on to explain: "Well, if Daddy died, we'd have to get a new one!"

Is there a Daddy department at Wal-Mart or something?

*******************************************************************************************

So not only does Shelby say simple words like mama, dada, hey and uh-uh. She now does sign-language for "more" and says, "Moh". She also started saying, "ah `ant moh" when her hands are busy doing something else! WOW!

***************************************************************************************** After being told that she had to go take a nap, my four year old, Sierra, walked off and said,
"This is NOT my day!"

Sigh....I learned that a long time ago! LOL

(Sidenote: 10 years later and she STILL says this!)

*******************************************************************************************
When I woke up this morning I felt yuckier than yesturday, in fact, I told my 3-year old that I thought I was running a fever. Later we discovered it had snowed in the night and was really pretty outside. Jordyn (5) woke up and wandered in the bedroom, Sierra (3), all excited to be the one to give out news, says, "Jordyn! It snowed last night and mom's got a running fever!!!!"
What? If you are going to have a fever, the worst kind must be a running one, cause how do you catch it and get rid of it???

********************************************************************
When we were in Richland Center, town of 5000+, we decided to take a drive around the little town. We found their cemetary which was the largest I have ever seen. It must've gone on for a mile or so, wrapping around and around. There were more statues and headstones than I had ever seen at one time. While we were looking at it, we hear Jordyn pipe up and say,"Wow, there's alot of dead people in there!". McKenzie replied in a awed voice, "No WON-der there are so few people in this town!"
