Throw Back Thursday: Our Puppy Takes A Shower

I mentioned several weeks ago that I had figured out how to upload some really old videos from Google Pics to use in blog posts. For the rest of the year, I will be posting short clips of our family that were taken in past years. I hope you enjoy them!

Today, we have a short clip of out a special little dog...

Several years ago, about seven actually, we got a little black lab mix puppy that we fell in love with immediately. One thing we noticed right away, she loved water! Her name is Lady and she is now a beautiful mature and still slightly wacky dog that we still love and adore!

I hope you enjoy this short clip from when Lady was about 15 weeks old in 2012:

Throw Back Thursday: New Washer And Dryer 2009

This originally posted in 2009 sometime:

I am so thankful for the Love of Jesus Christ. I don't know that there are words to express just how thankful I am. If it wasn't for Christ's love, none of us would be saved and we would have no hope of Heaven. If I didn't have a hope of Heaven, I would not be able to stand the things that are thrown my way. So thankful for the Lord!
Had such a wonderful prayer meeting last night. One of the best parts being that I was actually able to pray without being interrupted. A friend took Little Mr to the nursery with her. I don't usually let him go to the nursery. However, I really trust her because she has a REALLY sharp eagle on the kids. At any rate, it was so great to pray without having to worry about the kids.
Another wonderful answer to prayer: We got a practically BRAND new matched washer and dryer set! I was actually sad to see my old ones go. We have had them almost 11 years! It's like parting with dear, dear friends who I have loved and worked with for a really long time! I mean, when you think of all the dirty kiddy clothes, husband work clothes, barfed on blankets, wet blankets, my clothing, towels, bedding, shoes....the story those appliances would be able to tell!

Here is how we came to own a practically brand new set: A week or two ago, my daughters and I realized that the dryer was not always drying. Sometimes it would, then it wouldn't. Back and forth. So the cheaper way to go would be to put in a new element. But we really didn't have the money for even that.  I have been hanging onto my dear dryer and hoping for the best. This past Saturday a friend called and asked if I wanted a gently used washer and dryer. FOR FREE! Is God AWESOME or WHAT???? They were even able to deliver them to us. Hubby got them hooked up for me tonight and I feel so blessed! God is so awesome and incredible! Gotta give Him Praise!!! Lord willing, we will be able to find a home for our old washer as it still works great. The dryer...well...it will get to become some recycled thing in the future.

A little side-note: You may have noticed that I changed the title of my Thursday Posts. They were Blast From The Crazy Past. However, in keeping with the other titles of my blog posts I decided to rename it Throw-Back Thursday. Same content, different name!

Blast From The Crazy Past: Busy Happy Weekend 2009

Step back in time to January 2009 with me:

It has been a wonderful, happy and busy weekend so far.

Last night was Shelby's 9th birthday party. She was such a happy critter! It was funny, all day long she was a chatter-box about her birthday. Then when people started getting here, she clammed up and we could hardly get her to say anything. She does that when she gets REALLY happy. It's almost like she sits back and soaks in all the "happy".

Today we went for a drive up in the mountains. Something we have regrettably not done for a year or so. It's our favorite family thing to do, but the way the gas prices were last year we had to give it up and walk places. Then even after the prices went down, we had no money! However, today, we decided it was time to have some fun!

After we got home, we all laid down and rested. Then we got up, tidied the house for Sunday and then we played a new game we had bought for our Video Free month. It was fun! It was Littlest Pet Shop Monopoly. The girls loved moving the little critters around the board. Great for our older two practicing money and the younger two with counting and recognizing numbers. Tony sat in his highchair and chortled happily at us!

God bless your weekend. May you, like me, be blessed to have a family that you can enjoy spending time with!

Blast From The Crazy Past: Surprise, Surpise

Since February is Shelby's Birth Month, I decided I better share this sweet post from when Shelby was around 9 months old:

So just when you think you know your kids so well, they up and surprise you.

I thought, well, hoped, that Shelby would take her time with walking and all that. I mean, she did take her time going from the army crawl to the out-and-out-crawl...so...I thought that I might have a break.

BUT....I don't think that is going to happen....sigh....why do the babies have to grow up so fast????

ANYWAY....back to what brought this subject up in the first place......

Shelby won't be 9 months for a couple more days. Regardless, in the past couple weeks, she has started pulling herself up to things. This means that the beds, coffee tables, shelves and anything under 2 feet tall is totally fair game to a young child of almost-nine-months! After learning how to stand in one place and totally thrash a coffee table, she moved on to walking around the furniture and destroying EVERYTHING within her little grasp!

SO....I mistakenly thought that this would be the end of new learning processes for a little while. You know...learn something new and then concentrate on perfecting that ability?? HAH! Not with my little fruitcake!

Yesterday I walked out of the office with Miss Shelby standing by the couch...when I walked back in the room...there she was....I watched her let go of the couch and slowly lower herself to the floor to pick up a toy! ACK! This means that she potentially could get those little piggies moving away from furniture any time soon! Sigh.....

What's a mother to do???

Here is Miss Shells at her first Birthday!

Blast From The Crazy Past: The Things Kids Say!

Cute Kiddo Sayings From 2006 or so:

The girls would have been around 2, 3, 6 and 7...

So the other day the girls went to visit their favorite place in the store: the lobster tank. While they were there, Sierra (3), states that when she grows up she wants to be a lobster. McKenzie says, "When I grow up, I want to be a veterinarian." Sierra got a concerned look on her face and said, "So you can eat me???"
*******************************************************************Peter doesn't have a dangerous job, but apparently, that doesn't stop Jordyn from worrying about him.

I found Jordyn praying for daddy: "Dear Jesus, I know you love me. Please don't let my daddy die today."

I was a little startled, so Jordyn went on to explain: "Well, if Daddy died, we'd have to get a new one!"

Is there a Daddy department at Wal-Mart or something?

*******************************************************************************************

So not only does Shelby say simple words like mama, dada, hey and uh-uh. She now does sign-language for "more" and says, "Moh". She also started saying, "ah `ant moh" when her hands are busy doing something else! WOW!

***************************************************************************************** After being told that she had to go take a nap, my four year old, Sierra, walked off and said,
"This is NOT my day!"

Sigh....I learned that a long time ago! LOL

(Sidenote: 10 years later and she STILL says this!)

*******************************************************************************************
When I woke up this morning I felt yuckier than yesturday, in fact, I told my 3-year old that I thought I was running a fever. Later we discovered it had snowed in the night and was really pretty outside. Jordyn (5) woke up and wandered in the bedroom, Sierra (3), all excited to be the one to give out news, says, "Jordyn! It snowed last night and mom's got a running fever!!!!"
What? If you are going to have a fever, the worst kind must be a running one, cause how do you catch it and get rid of it???

********************************************************************
When we were in Richland Center, town of 5000+, we decided to take a drive around the little town. We found their cemetary which was the largest I have ever seen. It must've gone on for a mile or so, wrapping around and around. There were more statues and headstones than I had ever seen at one time. While we were looking at it, we hear Jordyn pipe up and say,"Wow, there's alot of dead people in there!". McKenzie replied in a awed voice, "No WON-der there are so few people in this town!"

Blast From The Crazy Past: My Marme...

Happy birthday to my Marme!
You are a woman of inspiration to me.
You taught yourself so many things like sewing when you were first married.
Seeing you sit at the sewing machine is one of my earlist memories.

I love you!!!

Blast From The Crazy Past: Oliver

January marks one year since our sweet bunny died.

I decided this picture needed to be shared this month.

He had this habit of running up to us
and then standing on his back feet begging for attention.

He sure was one of a kind!

Blast From The Crazy Past: Journey to Bethlehem

Three years ago, our church started doing a walk through nativity.

We enjoy doing it so much, you can tell from the picture of Jane and I!

The newspaper article showed up a week or two after we did it the first year.

We had our Third Annual Journey To Bethlehem and enjoyed it just as must as the last two years!
Have you gone?

Until next time...

Have a blessed day and embrace the craziness in your life!
