Midweek Madness: Christmas Break

Welcome to the Midweek Minute
Where I talk about the here and now...

How is your Christmas break going?

I hope that you are all enjoying or have enjoyed a wonderful Christmas break! We have had a very busy break this year, but despite the craziness, it was very relaxing and enjoyable.

Last week we had a progressive dinner with my side of the family. We started doing it last year and we all decided that we enjoy it so much that we want to make it a new tradition. This year we started at my brother's house for some appetizers like meat, cheese and crackers. Then we went to our house and had a variety of fruit with some yummy yogurt cinnamon dip. Next we headed to my parents house and enjoyed the main course of chili. Lastly, we headed to my grandma's house where we had dessert and grandma had us all open her gifts to us so she could enjoy watching us open them. We also went around the room and shared our favorite Christmas memory. Several of us decided that this year was super special because my nephew and his girlfriend brought their brand new baby boy, Jonah Carter!
(We pause this blog post for some adorable pics of my great-nephew!)

So weird to think of my brother as a grandpa and my parents as great-grandparents...say hello to a new phase of life! Very exciting place to be in life!

I didn't take very many pictures of our Christmas Eve or Day. I mostly took videos as we had a very excited 4 year old this year and it was just a blast to record his reaction to Christmas. And for privacy issues I cannot post them as we say his name quite often! That being said, it was a very fun Christmas and we all enjoyed ourselves. My parents came over to watch us open presents and open their stockings with us. Then we went up to their house for the day after our little guy took a short morning nap.

A special even was the Candlelight Service we had on Christmas Eve. My dad had darkened all the windows at church and it was completly dark while we had a service and lit the candles. It was so neat and we all enjoyed it!

This week we also were able to witness our very good friends finally adopt their daughter after four years of being in Foster Care. It was such a wonderful blessing!

We are also looking forward to having our annual Christmas tea party with friends this weekend, I am sure I will have more pictures to put up next week for that.

And between all the activities I have mentioned and not mentioned, we enjoyed spending time together as a family, bonding further with our 4 year old foster son and thanking God for our family.

Praying that as we enter this new year of 2018 coming up quick, that you are blessed and are seeking God's very best for

Until next time...

Have a blessed day and embrace the craziness in your life!
