Blast From The Crazy Past: Valentine's Day 2009

Welcome to memories...my memories....welcome to a Blast from my Crazy Past!

Have you ever paid attention to the feelings you get when you think about memories? Some memories bring pain, some bring happiness, some bring a smile...
Today's post from 2009 makes me smile as I remember just how care-free
our lives were then!

What a fun Valentine’s Day we have had with our children. Frankly, in our family, that is what it is about: family. Our children, every one of them is a celebration of our love. From the nine year old clear down to the 14 month old. So far today, we went on a fun family trip to Wal-mart to purchase a few things. Then we went out to eat, a rare treat! Peter and I introduced the kids to our favorite Mexican restaurant. It was a little funny because our son got all excited and started swinging his legs and about hyperventilated as we walked into the restaurant. We joked that he felt like he was “coming home”! (To those that don’t know, we are in the process of adopting our son who is three quarters Hispanic.) He downed the food too!

Later tonight we are going to go get a game that we have been looking for. We have been searching for a couple years, ever since my parents moved away. It is called Sequence. The only place I had found it, it was really expensive and in a town about 30 miles away. A friend of mine called me this morning and told me that one of the stores in town is having sales on games. So I asked her to look for this game Sequence. She said they had it and for about a third of the price! They also have a version for preschoolers. I am always looking for games for our younger daughters because most of the games we have are for about 1st grade and up. We need more preschool/kindergarten learning games. She also mentioned that there were some games geared more towards their age level.

Eleven years ago, my hubby proposed to me at the Vista House on the Columbia Gorge. It is a beautiful place with a gorgeous view. He had it wonderfully planned out. Complete with yummy Chicken Caesar Salads. My wonderful man that I love!! I am so glad that he chose me to be his life companion. Not everyone agreed with us getting married. Some said we were too young. However, God is good and God is great. Looking back, we would do it all over again. Having God to rely on and lean on these past 10.5 years has been one of the most amazing and incredible adventures we have ever been on. More than we could ever imagine! There are many people who think that we are down and out cause we don’t have the house with the mortgage, the high-paying job, big cars and all that. However, we have never cared for material possessions and are so happy to have our family living in the middle of God’s Will. Rather than where the world thinks we should be. What a blessing to wake up each day and know that God has complete control over it! We wouldn’t want it any other way!

I just want to squeeze a hug on the me from the past who was slowly and finally starting to learn that her worth comes from the Lord!

Till next time...

Have a blessed day and embrace the craziness in your life!
