Tuesday TIdings: New Babies!
Today's Tuesday's Tiding Is Brought By:
Sierra
For Christmas, I only wanted two things: A big bird cage, and a new bird to live with Princess. To my surprise, we decided to get two new birds!
We went to Pet-co and headed to the parakeet aviary. At first, I was disappointed, when I first looked into the aviary, it looked like there were only two common colors. Both colors of which I had or previously had. I took a closer look though, and I found just what I was looking for.
There in the mist of them, were two birds that looked like none of the others. The first one that the employee took out I named Patience. The funny thing was that she wasn't at all patient to leave and have a new home. As soon as he put her in the carrier box she was already climbing out again! The second parakeet I named Peculiar, that is because he is a rare color variation which you will see in the pictures below. You don't see birds like those two every day!
They are both females like Princess, that way they'll get along better. They are so adorable and I love them, and their personalities. They both love to climb as well.
I hope you will enjoy the stories I'll have to tell about them in the future, and I hope you love the new additions to the family as much as I do! :) P.S Love and miss you Crazy Olive!
The New Cage.

Patience
And Peculiar
They are all getting along great!
I hope you enjoyed, and be sure to Embrace The Adventures In Life!

Blast From The Crazy Past: The Things Kids Say!
Cute Kiddo Sayings From 2006 or so:
The girls would have been around 2, 3, 6 and 7...
So the other day the girls went to visit their favorite place in the store: the lobster tank. While they were there, Sierra (3), states that when she grows up she wants to be a lobster. McKenzie says, "When I grow up, I want to be a veterinarian." Sierra got a concerned look on her face and said, "So you can eat me???"
*******************************************************************Peter doesn't have a dangerous job, but apparently, that doesn't stop Jordyn from worrying about him.
I found Jordyn praying for daddy: "Dear Jesus, I know you love me. Please don't let my daddy die today."
I was a little startled, so Jordyn went on to explain: "Well, if Daddy died, we'd have to get a new one!"
Is there a Daddy department at Wal-Mart or something?

So not only does Shelby say simple
words like mama, dada, hey and uh-uh. She now does sign-language for
"more" and says, "Moh". She also started saying, "ah
`ant moh" when her hands are busy doing something else! WOW!
***************************************************************************************** After being told that she had to go take a nap, my four year old, Sierra, walked off and said,
"This is NOT my day!"
Sigh....I learned that a long time ago! LOL
(Sidenote: 10 years later and she STILL says this!)

When I woke up this morning I felt yuckier than yesturday, in fact, I told my 3-year old that I thought I was running a fever. Later we discovered it had snowed in the night and was really pretty outside. Jordyn (5) woke up and wandered in the bedroom, Sierra (3), all excited to be the one to give out news, says, "Jordyn! It snowed last night and mom's got a running fever!!!!"
What? If you are going to have a fever, the worst kind must be a running one, cause how do you catch it and get rid of it???
********************************************************************
When we were in Richland Center, town of 5000+, we decided to take a drive around the little town. We found their cemetary which was the largest I have ever seen. It must've gone on for a mile or so, wrapping around and around. There were more statues and headstones than I had ever seen at one time. While we were looking at it, we hear Jordyn pipe up and say,"Wow, there's alot of dead people in there!". McKenzie replied in a awed voice, "No WON-der there are so few people in this town!"Wednesday, January 24, 2018

Monday Madness: Solar Eclipse Summer of 2017
I'm sure you can remember exactly where you were during
the solar eclipse in August of 2017.
Our family remembers quite well because there was a chance we wouldn't
see it due to the smoke from forest fires in our area.
However, the day dawned and despite the smoke, we were able to
enjoy this once in a lifetime experience!
Until next time...
Have a blessed day and embrace the craziness in your life!

Monday Madness: Dear Grandpa...
I originally wrote this letter last fall after school started.
Somehow it got lost in my draft file until I found it today.
Must have been a reason I didn't find it till now.
Enjoy!

Gluten Free Friday: So....What Do You Eat?
When you say gluten/wheat- free, you often can see panic arise in people's eyes!
It's actually quite amusing to watch people twitch and ask you what you eat now.
I have found that I am fuller and have fewer cravings since
eliminating wheat.
I thought it might be fun for you to see what I ate one day:
Breakfast: an arrangement of nuts, an orange, and celery with cream cheese.
Lunch: meat, cheese, pecans, and cucumber! Yum!
Dinner: an assortment of veggies, avocado, and hummus.
We basically eat a TON of veggies, nuts, meats, and dairy.
We haven't eliminated all grains. We eat a limited amount of corn.
However, other grains we eat are rice, quinoa, and oats.
We have found that it is fairly easy to switch out ingredients that call for wheat flour etc.
And if you can't figure it out, there are TONS of recipes online and on youtube!
Until next time...
Have a blessed day and embrace the craziness in your life!

Blast From The Crazy Past: My Marme...
Happy birthday to my Marme!
You are a woman of inspiration to me.
You taught yourself so many things like sewing when you were first married.
Seeing you sit at the sewing machine is one of my earlist memories.
I love you!!!

MIdweek Minute: Middle of the Week Quietness
It's Wednesday...and I am FINALLY having a day where I am not jam-packed with activities and the house is relatively quiet. The girls are doing their schoolwork, the boys are off at school, Peter is at work and me...I am working on my blog with these two helpers:
Gus, our dog, is making sure my legs are warm and Charlie is making sure my toes don't twitch and interrupt his nap!
I love how that silly kitten sleeps with his short little paws!
Have a wonderful week!!!
Until next time...
Have a blessed day and embrace the craziness in your life!

Midweek Minute: It's A Girl!
I just wanted to say congratulations to my
goddaughter and her husband who are
expecting a little baby girl in April!
I am so excited about being asked to be a godmother again!
If you remember, last March, I posted a memory
about my goddaughter and her husband's
first child, Ian, who went to Heaven so much sooner than we anticipated.
We rejoice with Nick and Kathryn as they anticipate the arrival
of their baby girl this Spring!

Blast From The Crazy Past: Oliver
January marks one year since our sweet bunny died.
I decided this picture needed to be shared this month.
He had this habit of running up to us
and then standing on his back feet begging for attention.
He sure was one of a kind!
