Throwback Thursday: Thanksgiving Post from 2008

Welcome to Throwback Thursday! Tomorrow starts a month that we recognize for giving thanks all month long. While most of us do a great job of giving thanks throughout the year, I do love taking time to really focus on what I am grateful for. This November, I hope to send a picture a day of what I am thankful for. Here is a blog post I posted back in 2008, so many things have changed in the past 11 years, that I am going to note in red anything that has changed. Hope you enjoy!

Throwback Thursday: Bounced To Sleep!

Welcome to Throwback Thursday,
It has been a lot of fun to go through old pictures here recently, I was so excited when I found this picture below because it was from the first year that we had Tony. We don't have a lot of online pictures of him during that time period as I still was printing off everything then.

Throwback Thursday: "I'm Scared!"

Welcome to Throwback Thursday,
Jordyn and I were remembering this moment 13 years ago this evening. What a beautiful time as a momma to witness my child realizing her need to have Jesus living in her heart! I hope you enjoy stepping back in time with me:

Throwback Thursday: Catching Frogs

Shelby has always been our defender of the weak...
And the only one of our girls who would chase after anything that moved.
Literally.
This particular May day in 2014 was no exception.

Throwback Thursday- My Children's Prayers

Welcome to Throwback Thursday,
The following post was written well over 12 years ago and was one of my favorites. Such great reminders of the innocent and trusting prayers of children who know their Lord is going to answer. I pray my children always remember their roots and how God has been answering their prayers from the time they were tiny.

Throwback Thursday: Sing A Song Poem

Here we are, throwing back to the 2009-2010 school year:

It would be interesting to know whether McKenzie remembers the tune to this little poem she wrote for me back in 2009 at the ripe old age of 9 years old. If I remember, she was in a silly mood...per usual!

Throwback Thursday: Sewing Projects Part One

In January 2009, I was happily sewing up a storm for my girls and as well as for my friend's girls. Since I originally posted in two posts, I thought I would keep it that way when reposting. So here is Part One, Part Two will come out next Thursday:

Throw Back Thursday: Sick Day Poem January 19, 2009

Dear Friends and Family,
You know when you have been sick for so long that you can't think straight. OR....the thoughts you have sound amazing till later when you realize it must have been illness talking? Happens to me more times than I can count. Apparently not much has changed since January of 2009!
Enjoy this little poem that my sick feverish demented ill little mind came up with!

Throwback Thursday: Go To Sleep! (2006)

Dear Friends and Family,

One of the main reasons I started my first blog way back in 2006-ish was to keep track of some of those fun memories that I didn't want to forget when my kiddos got older. The following post was written around 2006 when Jordyn and Shelby were about 5 and 2 years old. I hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed reading it again!

Throwback Thursday: The Bunny Condo

Today I came across these pictures of our family friends, Kristina and Bailey cleaning out our
bunny Oscar's cage several years ago.
They had so much fun that I had to take a bunch of pictures of them!

Throwback Thursday: My Christmas Wish List

Dear Friends and Family,

Today seems like a good day to remind everyone about the reason for Christmas. If you followed my blog a couple years ago, you would have read a guest post from a friend of mine who came from circumstances that weren't ideal.

Throwback Thursday: She Was Found Faithful...

The following blog post was originally posted many years ago, I believe around 2008 or 2009. To this day, I remember how special "Aunt" Tina was to me. She fought in prayer for the people around her. To this day, I believe she is still greatly missed by her family and all who knew her.

Throwback Thursday: Sad Evening

I very much remember the evening that I sent this email to my parents. It was six months after my grandpa passed away. It had taken me that long to touch my hiking pack after packing it to go find him up in the hills...

Throw Back Thursday: My Grandpa's Guitar

This guitar has many happy memories for me.
All having to do with my grandpa.
October 15th marked 5 years since my grandpa died.
Part of me still expects him to be out in his shop when I go to visit grandma.
Other parts of me can't believe time continued after he died.
Grandpa was always the silent supporter in all our musical endevors.
He loved nothing better than to see his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren be involved in music of some sort.
After my grandpa died, my grandma gave me his guitar.
It plays the loveliest music you ever did hear!
I will always treasure playing my grandpa's guitar because of the memories I have of him playing.
Here are some pics of grandpa playing:

At a Rest Home Meeting with McKenzie and Jordyn, his great-granddaughters

Probably about my age...he had that guitar a long time!

Throw-Back Thursday: Praise Reports From The Past

Dear Friends and Family,
Recently I was going through some papers and found a little book I had started to write praise reports in and then misplaced. As I was flipping through the little book, I decided I didn't necessarily want to keep the book, but the memories. So I am going to share a few of them here, I hope they bless you as well!

9/23/13
*Going to the Ladies Retreat in Salem was just what I needed. I am so thankful that months ago, my husband felt I should go. I needed the reminder on what Joy is: the knowledge that God is in control and He can handle whatever situation is.

*I'm thankful for my friend Glenda and her ability to make me laugh like a complete idiot!

*I'm thankful that I don't have to plan my future. God is in control, this gives me Joy!

*Wonderful prayer meeting last night. Just me and God meeting in my bedroom!

*Tony starts Resource Room today. He is apprehensive but he will do great.

8/4/15
I'm so thankful that the simple act of spending time with the Lord makes even the worst problems easy to get through!
