So let me tell you a little about each member in my family and why I am thankful for them:
Mac: Mac is 17. She has told us that she wants to be a foster parent and is praying for her husband to be like-minded as well. She feels the pain of others deeply and has an overwhelming desire to help people. When she sees a need, she brings it to the attention of the whole family so we can see how we as a family can help.
George: George is 15. She is my nurse. Since she was tiny, she has been the one toddling around bringing cool washcloths for foreheads, passing out drinks of water and helping someone to the bathroom. She was born with a desire to serve and make others feel better. More than once over the years, I have had her send me to bed to take a nap while she "takes care of things".
Sis: Sis is 13. If she hears of a prayer need, she is on it and she will tell everyone to be praying as well! Sis collects prayer requests like people collect thimbles, jewelry or fine dishes. She doesn't allow them to sit on a shelf collecting dust though, she brings them down, polishes them, and makes sure those prayers are answered before she puts them away.
Shells: Shells is 11, almost 12. Shells is the one who will secretly do something to make someone's day better. I don't know how many times I
will go to do one of my chores and find out she did it for me already. She is a thinker and a dreamer. She uses those tools to come up with some fantastic ideas.
T-Boss: T-Boss is 9. He shows his love by acts of service. As a result, you can pretty much guarantee that if T-Boss cares at all for you, he will be asking you how he can help you. You rarely find that he isn't in the mood to be a helper, rather you find yourself looking for things he can do. He cares about people and does not like to see them sad.
Peter: I'm not sure I have enough room to tell you about this man....he blows my mind on a regular basis with how big his heart is and how much love is in it. When we decided to continue fostering, the Lord brought us to it in different ways and I love hearing his story all the time. I will have him share it sometime!
So there is my family....they aren't perfect. I have obviously shared my favorite parts of them. But they are perfect parts that make our family what it is and I am so thankful for them!
Till next time...
Have a blessed day and embrace the craziness in your life!
Heidi
That's cool.
