He started out as a Christmas present along with a brother of his. Here they are in the box on the way home...
Aren't they adorable???
So life with bunnies began....
The black bunny that you get a glimpse of above was a biter. Walter bit everyone. Not little nudges to let us know he wanted to pass but all-out bites. Obviously we couldn't have that around kiddos, so we found a new home for Walter. A home where he was the only bunny and there weren't any kiddos.
As time went on, we found out that our bunny loved to have new houses made for him. We would make cardboard houses, wire cage houses, houses of blankets and run of the backyard. He was a curious little critter!
Just a month or so before we got our Oliver, we had received some bad news....my grandpa, great-grandpa to my children had passed away....suddenly. No warning. All of a sudden I found myself trying to be everything for everyone...my grandma, my children, my parents...I found myself falling into a dark pit of sadness....
Then this face:
When I was feeling sad, I would sit and watch this little critter.
He was so happy to be alive and just enjoying the simple things...

This little creation of God's was so happy to hop around the house and back yard. Pretty soon I noticed that I was smiling more. I noticed that I started enjoying life more and crying less.
And...it made me appreciate a God who uses even His creation to bring peace and tranquility to a simple soul like mine.
